Jesus Genealogy & Bible Timeline
According to the Bible, life expectancy in ancient times, before the Flood, was over 900 years. After God flooded the entire earth due to the fall of mankind, causing the earth to become full of violent (Gen.6:13), human life expectancy decreased exponentially due to the ecological and climatic changes of the earth as a result of the Flood. By the time of Abraham, life expectancy had dropped to less than 200 years, and by the time of Moses to less than 100 years (Ps. 90:10). But God promises that in the last days He will swallow up death forever and wipe away the tears of all people (Rev. 21:4).
